Tomorrow When The War Began DVD

Everyone who has seen the movie is waiting in anticipation for the Tomorrow When The War Began DVD release. The movie has done really well at the Australian box office since its release a few weeks ago. This is certainly due in part to the popularity among young adult readers of the Tomorrow When The War Began book that the movie is based on, who couldn’t wait to see the movie.

After its preliminary success in Australia and New Zealand, the movie is set to be distributed overseas by Paramount Pictures to the following countries: United Kingdom, Scandinavia, South Africa, Portugal and Russia. It has also been picked up to be shown in Canada by Inferno Entertainment. 

Andrew Cripps from Paramount said he was delighted to be distributing Tomorrow When The War Began movie to additional markets and looks forward to bringing the story to international audiences.

In Australia, you can now pre-order the Tomorrow When The War Began DVD at http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/813725. It will be available on the 30th December. For other countries, there is no news yet of a DVD release date; the movie still hasn’t even got a disributor in the United States as yet.

The Tomorrow When The War Began cast of young adults, who are the focus of the movie, consists mostly of young Australian actors who have appeared in various Australian television and movie productions. Some are quite well known for their roles in popular free to air soapies like “Neighbours” and “Home and Away”.

He did such a good job of it that he was recently rewarded for his efforts by winning Best Script at the Inside Film Awards in Sydney against some very stiff competition. These are people’s choice awards so it shows just how popular this movie has become since it’s release only a couple of months ago.

Who is the Tomorrow When The War Began Author?

The novel was written by popular Australian author John Marsden (who was a teacher at the time) and it was first published back in 1993.

The Catalyst for the Tomorrow When The War Began Books

Marsden, who had always enjoyed writing from an early age, was disappointed to find his teenage students uninterested in reading. He wanted to write stories that would bring them back to books and the enjoyment reading can bring. So that was the catalyst for his writing for the teenage genre, though way back when he was a young student himself, he says he wanted to become a writer. He went on to write seven in a series of Tomorrow When The War Began books.

The Story Begins

Tomorrow When The War Began is set in the fictional rural town of Wirawee and is told through the eyes of the novel’s protagonist, Ellie Linton. It’s the end of the school holidays and Ellie invites some of her friends to go away camping at an isolated area of pristine bushland the locals call “Hell”.  Six of her friends; Homer, Corrie, Kevin, Fi, Robyn and Lee join her for a few days of camping before school goes back.

The Tomorrow When The War Began movie takes place in a rural Australian town called Wirrawee. Seven teens decide to go away on a camping trip to a pristine, remote area of bushland the locals call Hell. But Hell is nothing like the name implies, it is a beautiful idyllic piece of wilderness where the teens enjoy a few days away from their families. While they’re busy enjoying themselves, many of the townspeople of Wirrawee are taking part in the annual Commemorative Day festivities at the local showground.
